Bile Duct Cancer Awareness Month
On World Cholangiocarcinoma Day (February 19th), we encourage local establishments to go green and host targeted fundraising drives. Contributions directly fund scientific research with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and provide patient financial assistance for local families navigating care.
Our Annual Events
We host several gatherings throughout the year designed to bring families, friends, and advocates together in support of our mission:
- Traditional Fall Oktoberfest: A family-friendly German gathering featuring food, fellowship, and community spirit.
- Halfway to Oktoberfest Pub Party: A spring gathering that keeps our community connected and engaged between major seasons.
- "Duckerate" a Duck for Bile Duct Cancer: A creative campaign that raises both funds and visual awareness throughout our towns.
- Puzzle Palooza: A friendly, team-based puzzle competition suitable for all ages.
- Super Bowl Squares & Bingo Nights: Interactive, community-wide activities held throughout the year to support our local programs.
Patient Financial Aid & Research Support
We direct funds toward scientific research in collaboration with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation while providing direct financial aid to help Louisiana patients manage expenses related to their care and treatment. Facing a rare diagnosis brings unexpected costs and medical challenges; through our annual fundraising efforts, we work to ease financial burdens for local families while advancing research efforts nationally.
Help offset the cost of gas, tolls, and parking fees for patients traveling to regional medical centers for oncology appointments and treatments.
Fund the printing and delivery of informational resources, guides, and care journals given to newly diagnosed individuals and their family caregivers.
Sponsor a local support group meeting, providing a safe space, materials, and guidance for patients and caregivers navigating a cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis.
Provide direct financial relief to a Louisiana patient struggling to cover prescription copays, medical equipment, or vital health supplies.
Underwrite an educational presentation at a local wellness forum, supplying early detection literature and materials to educate our community.
